Welcome to Our Field Workshops!
|
|
We have taught field workshops in Michigan's gorgeous Upper Peninsula since 1987. For many years, we lived in a cabin surrounded by forest near Munising, so we know the area intimately. Although we now live near Yellowstone National Park, we return to northern Michigan every year to spend several weeks enjoying the serenity and beauty that abounds here for our own well-being, and to keep our cameras busy capturing enchanting nature images.
Our workshop philosophy is to conduct programs so all of our participants learn a great deal and come away with outstanding photographs. It's our goal during the workshops that you shoot the best nature images that you have ever made in your life. We are very effective in helping our participants accomplish this goal. We want you to succeed and we work hard to make sure that you do. Over the years, more than 1,500 students have attended our Michigan field workshops. Many of these students are now semi or full-time professional nature photographers.
For those who want to learn as much as possible, we suggest that you attend our summer workshop (and thoroughly study our books). You will photograph a wider range of subjects which will test your skills and offer you many opportunities to use a variety of equipment. During the summer field workshops, we present many instructional slide programs which include composition, exposure, and close-up techniques.

The fall color program concentrates on breathtaking landscapes and closeups. Since all of us love the exquisite autumn colors of Michigan's enchanting North Woods, we spend as much time as possible in the field making spectacular autumn images. Our fall color program is a blend between a workshop and a photo tour. It is an enormously popular program. Unfortunately, we must turn away some every year, so enroll now to join us this year.
