John Gerlach and Dixie Calderone will offer an all-day hands-on workshop.  This close-up photography class will be conducted entirely indoors. This eliminates the likely problem of uncooperative weather conditions. We will have at least a dozen photo stations where superb images can be made and you will rotate through them while I help you master photo techniques!  Lighting aids, backgrounds, and photogenic subjects are provided. This workshop is suitable for anyone who wants to improve their close-up photos with a DSLR or mirrorless camera.

John is a dynamic public speaker. His burning enthusiasm for photography and willingness to share his knowledge makes him an inspirational photography instructor. For over forty years, John Gerlach has taught hundreds of field workshops and one-day seminars.  John leads several winter photo tours of Yellowstone National Park and has led forty photo tours of the best game parks - Samburu, Lake Nakuru, and Masai Mara - all Kenya has to offer!

And if this schedule isn’t enough, John is a published author with six best-selling books about nature photography, writes a column for Nature Photographer magazine, posts frequently to his Blog and now works as a contributing writer for Canon cameras and field tests their equipment! John shoots Canon cameras and thoroughly investigates them to use the camera easily to achieve outstanding close-up images.

John will teach precisely what you need to know to become an outstanding close-up photographer!  In this workshop, while there may be several ways to do things, John will teach you the best and easiest way to shoot superb close-up photographs.  You will be amazed at the images that take at the workshop.
